In other words, it answers the question, ‘how moist or dry is the air?’ Before you use Boveda packs in a wooden container, you have to season the wood. Boveda scientists tested to find the safest, most effective seasoning method. We tried everything from 95% RH all the way down to 32% RH. At a low RH, seasoning takes longer. At a high RH, you risk damaging the wood. After trying them all, we found that 84% RH is just right. CONTROLLED, CAREFUL SEASONING TAKES TIME.
